Raise The Heights

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Was in a window elevator with a lady who wouldn’t look at the ground below us. She kept her eyes to the door. Before we got out she told me she was afraid of heights. To this I responded, “Raise the heights.”

She looked at me like I was strange.

You cannot feel afraid of heights unless you picture “the heights” as something to fear. You look at the ground and think, ‘wHat if I fell?”

Instead you could be thinking, “What if I lift the floor up with me?”

Yes, you do have control of everything you picture – but only if you exercise it?

Be Careful

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Be careful about showering those you love with verbal praise. It often leads to egotism rather than greatness. It often destroys the very person you’re trying to help. Like money that is inherited – it can lead to the wrongful notion of invincibility. Seek not those who praise or condemn. Learn from those who teach life lessons.

Don’t Cook Your Organs

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Ever notice that people who run all the time age

FASTER than those who don’t.

If you look at many marathon runners in their

mid-30’s, you’ll already see the ‘prune’ look beginning

to etch itself onto their faces. Why is this?

There are a couple reasons:

1. Many distance athletes believe, erroneously, that because

they workout, they don’t need to take any sort of supplement

that safeguards them against free radical damage. Show an

endurance athlete a supplement loaded with antioxidants proven

to reduce the risk of illness, including cancer and heart disease,

and don’t be surprised if you hear, ‘I don’t need that stuff. I work

out.’

Uh – duh. When you workout, your body cranks out MORE free

radicals, not less.

Yes, you need to exercise to get the results you want – but to sweat

and NOT supplement is a mistake. When you take super potent

antioxidants like like elderberry, chokeberry, black currant and

bilberry -as well as a marine oil I’ll be recommending on Monday –

you are insuring yourself against disease.

In China, the longest lived people eat abundantly from fruits,

vegetables, meats, herbs – and green tea. Green tea is a mega

potent antioxidant as well.

2. The other reason for the ‘prune’ look – not to mention the

ready-for-the-scrap-heap feeling inside the bodies of many

distance runners is because, as the Chinese Taoists have taught,

the exerciser is ‘cooking’ his internal organs from over-exertion.

Cooking your organs?

Yes.

It’s a scientific fact that some people are ‘warmer’ than others.

Their hands and feet are warmer. They sweat easier. They need

fewer clothes, and so on.

The above is not a bad thing.

However, when you over-exercise and have no method of cooling

your body off, you do internal damage and it shows on your face.

High stress in the home and workplace also contribute to over-

heating, too – so don’t think you’re off the hook if you don’t work

out.

Key thing is you need to have a way to cool off internally.

Supplementing with antioxidants helps – but the way you exercise

helps a lot, too. If you exercise in such a way that your body

doesn’t overheat – a way in which you’re opening all the

meredians in your body, a way in which you’re increasing

the flow of chi within rather than obstructing it – well, then,

you will know what it’s like to be 80, 90 and up and still be

able to move with ease. You’ll know what it’s like to still be

mentally alert, filled with vim, vigor and enthusiasm.

This is what you are taught in the Chinese Long-Life System,

available at http://www.chineseculturesecrets.com/long_life.html

The other day I was at the beach – training a couple friends.

After one round of a specific exercise that looked like ‘nothing

much’ – the guy turned to me and said, ‘WOW. I can feel the

energy moving from my shoulders to my hands. I can feel

something clicking internally.’

Indeed. That’s the difference.

For great health you don’t just focus on the muscles. The

muscles matter not if even ONE organ in your body runs

amuck. See how strong your legs are when a kidney fails.

Or how powerful your chest if your heart has an attack.

Or how far you can throw a football if your spleen is ruptured.

The Chinese approach to a long-life involves working from

the inside out. That’s why it is uniquel powerful. That’s why it works.

The Power of Mistakes

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

If you’re afraid to make a mistake – you’re interferring

with the very process that makes you successful. This is

a tough lesson for so many people to learn. Mistakes are

not the end of the world; they’re your ticket to a whole new

existence.

This evening I sat in the sauna with my son, Frank, talking

about what it takes to get good at anything. He’s only six,

but he’s primed and ready for knowledge on how to build

a powerful self-image.

‘Could you tell me about something you didn’t used to be able

to do?’ I asked. ‘Something that used to be hard for you but now

it’s easy.’

‘Throwing a football,’ he immediately said.

‘Okay, what else?’

‘Catching a football.’

‘And …?’

‘Punching and kicking.’

‘Okay, great. Can you think of anything else?’

‘Hmmm, I guess writing.’

‘Any idea how many things you’ve forgotten? How about

learning to roll over, to crawl, to stand, to walk, to run, to

get dressed, to feed yourself, and so on.’

Frank’s eyes went wide with wonder.

‘All of these things were once very difficult for you. You

struggled with them. You made a ton of mistakes. Yet now

you can do them a lot, lot easier, right?’

‘Right.’

‘Do you know what this means?’ I asked. ‘It means that anything

you want to learn, the same rules will apply. At first you’ll make

mistakes. You’ll struggle. Then you’ll make fewer mistakes because

the mistakes are teaching you WHAT to do. Then, if you pay attention

like you have so far, you’ll be able to do the new thing, too. It’s as

simple as that. But if you whine and complain and cry about your

mistakes, you’ll never get anywhere. You’ll think poorly about

yourself and you’ll get results that don’t make you happy.’

I talked with Frank for 15 minutes about the value mistakes

have in life – and I’ll be reinforcing this talk over and over again.

Of course, this is only a lesson for six-year old kids. I don’t

know of a single adult who could benefit from this knowledge.

HA.

All of us can.

Don’t fear mistakes. Use them as the corrective feedback

they truly are. Mistake lead to greatness – but only if you

stop judging them as bad.

Level 10 Attitudes

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

From my journal:

“Your goal is important – but it’s the attitude you bring

to the goal that determines your destiny. An attitude

less than a 10 is not good enough to cause a shift in

your reality.”

Knife Attack – Run & Hide or Kick His Butt

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

A couple weeks ago I sent out an

email that told you how most people

are taught (or not taught) to respond to

a knife attack.

I told you that a guy named Tim Larkin

doesn’t run – and doesn’t hide when someone

pulls a knife, or any other weapon for that

matter. And he teaches his incredible system

to the military and to the civilian alike.

In fact, Tim goes to Europe and Asia with

the YPO’s – and pretty much shuts up anyone

who thinks his system is bogus. He just came back

from seminars in China and India – and he’s been

all over Europe. Packed houses everywhere.

That doesn’t happen for no reason. It happens because

the dude is good – damn good.

Well, that email I sent two weeks ago – it almost brought

down the house.

I got emails from tons of people praising me up one

side and down the other. They thanked me for

leading them to the very source of information

they have wanted to find for years.

Yes, a few people who aren’t convinced and never

will be, no matter what, sent hate mail – but hey, I’m

used to that by now.

The bottom line though is this: It’s better to have an

alternative other than ‘run and hide.’

Truth is, sometimes you are in a transportation device

in which you cannot run – and hiding solves nothing.

Need I really go into anymore detail.

You know, I used to think Tim Larkin’s

system of training was a bunch of hype, too.

Then I did something that I encourage all intelligent

people to do. I found out for myself so I could judge

whether I was right or not.

Turns out my ‘knee-jerk’ reaction was wrong. Dead

wrong. That’s why I encourage you to go read about

my discovery at Tim’s seminar. I think you’ll be shocked.

And that’s an understatement.

My article about Tim is now up on my

site. Take a moment and read it.

It may save your life and the life of a

loved one.

Go to http://mattfurey.com/weapons.html

and see why I went from doubtful to

very confident in what he teaches.

What’s a Burning Desire

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

From my journal:

“A burning desire doesn’t mean flexing your muscles,

stiffening your spine and trying to physically force your

goal upon the world. A burning desire is a lot like the

story of the burning bush. The bush is on fire but the

fire does not consume the bush. And so it is with YOU.

You have a desire that burns of its own accord, without

effort or struggle because you pictured what you wanted

with so much enthusiasm that the desire has taken on

a life of its own. You wanted it. Now it wants you.”

The Goal Dan Gable Never Achieved

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

From my journal:

Dan Gable achieved his goals of becoming a state,

national, world and Olympic champion – as well as

an NCAA, world and Olympic coach.

But he never achieved the biggest goal he set for himself:

PUSH TO COLLAPSE

Bigger than winning Olympic Gold – was Gable’s desire

to KNOW he gave it everything he had in pursuit of his

goal – and that there was nothing more he could have

done to make it come true.

How many people are willing to give everything they’ve

got, physically and mentally, to make their goals become

reality. Are you.

Note: Here’s something I received yesterday from a lady

using my Dao Zou training program –

http://mattfurey.com/dao_zou.html

Hello Matthew!

I started your Dao Zou program yesterday.

I walked to a park that’s just across the street from my

home after I dropped my son off at school and unsurprisingly

there were a few elderly Asian people doing what I think was

some form of Tai Chi and others walking laps around the park.

I just picked a place in the middle of the field and got started.

Within a few minutes I realized that this was no ordinary walking.

It gave me almost instant perspective. It made things that seemed

so tall and big like the trees and the surrounding houses seem so

small relative to the great expanse of the sky. It also helped me to

see how limited I have allowed my thinking to be.

A half an hour later, I was a different person. “Sliding through life”

as you say.

I had a question for you: when doing breathing exercises and even

with the Dao Zou you give instructions to place the tip of the tongue

to the roof of the mouth. I was wondering if you could share or

elaborate more on what the purpose of that is.

Jenny

MJF: Jenny, the short answer for placing tongue on palate is to connect

the governing and conception channels of the body. Doing so creates

an electrical charge that awakens your body/mind at a whole new

level. Keep me posted on your progress.

The Only Pill You Need

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

From my journal:

The only magic pill you need is the Happiness Pill.

But you don’t take it. You find it within.

Note: I am now rested after my six-day teaching spree in

October – so I’ll be making an announcement regarding

the 2008 Psycho-Cybernetics Coaching Program very soon.

Renewals for 2008 were nearly 100%, so I’m strongly looking

into forming a second group. Stay tuned.

Below is a testimonial I just reeceived about the Psycho-Cyb

coaching program:

Dear Matthew,

Last Monday during the Psycho-cyb afternoon session in

Tampa, you instructed us in a specific visualization exercise.

All of us were instructed to take 15 minutes, spread through-

out the conference room and/or hallways and do a visualization

combined with (some other things you showed).

At the time, I was concerned, if not somewhat down, worrying

about how was I going to turn around one of the worst business

months I could recall in many years.

I decided to go through the visualization of generating income

during my work day. I visualized the whole process from

beginning to end including speaking to clients, making

phone calls, identifying opportunities with a clear mind

and strong purpose.

I repeatedly did this for the next 15 minutes feeling the

visualization so acutely that it felt as if it was really

happening and that I was at my desk doing it.

The next day, Tuesday 23 October I began my day confident

in its eventual success.

The result:

Tues 10/30/2007 finished as one of the largest revenue days

I can ever remember experiencing in my career! It was almost

DOUBLE what I had envisioned occurring the day before.

The rest of the week was among the ten best of my career.

This success continued today – Monday as well.

Matthew, I simply wanted to share this success story with

you and thank you for all your efforts teaching the principles

of Psycho-Cybernetics to all of us and allowing me into your

programs. You are very much appreciated.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

With Warmest Regards,

T.P.
