Marine Seargeant Sounds Off

Just received this email from a Marine Sgt. who was stationed in

Iraq. Here’s what he has to say about Combat Conditioning:

Matt,

My name is Jereme Roodhouse. I am a Sergeant in the United States

Marine Corps. I have been using the methods and technical described

in Combat Conditioninghttp://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html

for close to two years and would like to say that it is amazing, what a difference

this type of workout can make.

I have put my body through many a different and difficult types of exercise

regimes and this is bar none; the greatest all around, functional program there

is.

I have recently returned from Iraq where I was deployed in the western Al

Anbar province. My unit spent the first month and a half clearing the cities

of the region, where we then set up battle positions (BP’s) to patrol and

continue to route out the insurgency from the area. The operations were

arduous and continuous. We then remained at the BP’s for the duration of

our deployment.

Leading up to this I had been using Combat Conditioning as my main

form or exercise and loved the results. I also had to endure the

required exercise of the military but would implement Combat Conditioning

at every opportunity.

Once in Iraq I was unable to keep this up due to our operational tempo.

However, my legs never failed me and even in the extreme heat, with

heavy body armor my body performed flawlessly. I know that the deep

breathing and the intensity of Combat Conditioning played a large role in

this. Even when I was able to exercise out at the BP’s I had limited space

and next to no equipment which was perfect for Combat Conditioning.

At the end of the deployment I was rock solid and never used a weight

to do this.

I also gained about 5 to 10 lbs in muscle somehow.

In addition when I did have to run again I went hard for about 5 miles with

no problem.

Thanks for such a dynamic way to hone the body that God has provided each

and every person with.

Semper Fi,

Sgt. Roodhouse
