The 3 Relaxations

Getting into the flow, or “The Zone,” requires that you relax in 3 different ways. Although you could say the 3 ways arephysical, mental and spiritual, hearing that doesn’t help you much.

What I’m now going to reveal will definitely register at a much higher level.

The first relaxation is best described with the words “Relax your mind.” To relax your mind requires a quieting of the mind. It requires emptiness. It requires an end to the constant chatter taking place within.

The second relaxation is “Relaxing your muscles.” The person carrying physical tension cannot perform as well as someone who is calm. All great athletes, martial artists, performers, writers and other professionals understand this truth. In the Zero Resistance Living program one of the first things students learn is to say the phrase “Calm mind, calm body.” Without a calm mind and calm body you will be frustrated in virtually everything you do.

The third relaxation is “relaxing your breathing.” Chuang Tzu said “Ordinary men breathe from their throats, extraordinary men breathe from their feet.” He was right. It’s much harder for a shallow breather to be a deep thinker or richly talented. Your breath is your power. You connect to the universe through your breathing. WIthout a deep breath there is very little life.
