This morning I spoke with a man I met over 10 years ago. He remarked that I used to be a lot more YANG.

You could probably translate this to mean I was “rough and tumble, had hard abrasive edges” and so on.

“You’re much more balanced, he said. “Much easier to get along with.”

He’s probably right. All I know is I’m in flow. When I was Yang – I was supposed to be that way at that time in my life.

And now… being gentler, easier-going and a bit more yielding is good, too.

Being balanced is not something I’ve strived for. All I did was follow what was meaningful to me at the time.

Theatre of the Mind, internal martial arts training, Chi Kung, having great mentors and guides and being willing to “let go” have been a huge part of this change.

For the past four years I’ve been nearly invisible as far as the Internet goes. I cut way back on what I was doing and began spending more time with my children.

Being able to work closely with my son and daughter has been a tremendous blessing. There’s nothing like it in the world. Children are precious and you only have “a moment in time” with them – then they’re grown and out the door.

I told myself I didn’t want to be the father who was never there – the parent who gave his time to everything else but his own children. I want to be there for them. And I’m grateful I’ve been able to.

Over the last several months I’ve thought long and often about being able to pass along more of my teachings to YOU as so much has changed. And I’ve found an almost perfect way to do so through my Furey Faithful “society.”
