Years ago, a great motivational speaker by the name of
Foster Hibbard, used to lay it all on the line when he
spoke. Oftentimes he would be drenched in sweat.
Dan Kennedy once said of him, “Best speaker I ever saw.
Worst salesman I ever saw.”
Then one day a switch flipped in Foster’s mind and he became
great at both speaking and selling. He went from not being able
to sell water to the dehydrated – to becoming a “closer” the
likes of which the world had never seen.
Dan Kennedy often saw him do an event for chiropractors and
dentists – and close 100% of the room.
What made the difference. It was the moment Foster changed the
mental pictures he had in his mind; the day he realized there was
nothing wrong with making a lot of muney – and nothing wrong
with selling something – especially when it helps people.
Prior to this realization Foster always thought that there was something
“unspiritual” about making muney – or heaven forbid – selling.
His enlightenment led to him becoming phenomenal in something he
was previously frightened of doing. He discovered that business is a
mega powerful way to become MORE spiritual – not less. He found that
business challenged him to the core – exposed his weaknesses and
helped him turn them into strengths.
Often, after showing the power of his convictions, Hibbard would say,
“I’ve shown you MY self-esteem – now show me YOURS.”
Order forms would be filled out on the spot and those who made the
decision to improve their lives were happy they did so. As they took
one step forward they shook Foster’s hand and thanked him for having
the courage along with his convictions.
I’ve often thought about this story in relation to so many people who
go into business for themselves – especially on the Internet. So many
lack confidence. They hold themselves back out of fear that others will
be offended – or that others will accuse them of trying to sell something.
And their fear is rewarded with mediocre to dismal results.
Those who have a powerful self-image are not deterred by those who
criticize and condemn, usually out of jealousy. They have a goal in
mind and they are going to pursue it regardless of the opinions of
others. They understand that ONE person with conviction can turn
the tide from low to high.
When I first began to tell you about my Zero Resistance Internet
Seminar being held this October – I got off to a so-so start. I
was in China busily creating seven different products. My focus
was not 100% on the goal I had.
In late July I returned, held my MasterMind and Psycho-Cybernetics
meetings – then flew to Finland. The plan was to roll out in August

mentor, Dan Gable – the greatest coach who ever lived.
I visualized you learning from me, taking copious notes and being so
inspired that you would go on to create a successful enterprise, just
like so many of my students have.
By the time I had recovered enough from my surgery to fully act upon
what I was picturing in my mind – only four weeks remained. I was
nearly sold out but the goal was NOT to be “nearly” full. It was and IS to
be completely full. 100% sold out.
That’s when I realized I needed to remove another layer or two of
resistance – afterall, that’s one of the things I’ll be teaching at my

and customers’ resistance.
