Earlier today I received an email from a man in my MasterMind
group. I didn’t realize until now how one thing I said to him earlier
this year affected him. Here’s what he wrote:
“Matt,
I paid off my mortgage today. Wouldn’t have done it
if you hadn’t asked, “You still owe on your mortgage?”
After that MasterMind meeting I went home and told (my wife)
that I was paying the house off before the end of the year.
It seemed a little ambitious then, but now it’s done.
See you soon.
Michael
M.F. Michael, congratulations. Just goes to show how much you can
accomplish when you focus on on a target and commit to making it
a reality. While most people think of a 20 or 30-year mortgage as
the norm – you chose to reframe the idea and shrink the time frame.
There’s no need to take 30 years to do something that can be accomplished
in five to seven years – if not faster.
When it comes to success, it’s good to balance two ideas:
1. You’re willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.
2. Once you’ve done something, figure out how to do if better as well as
faster.
For example, if you earn 50k a year, begin to ponder making that same amount
in six months, then three months, then a month, then a week, then in a day, an
hour, a minute, and so on.
Same goes with paying off debts. So many people worry endlessly about their
debts when they’d be far better off concentrating on increasing income. When you
focus on increasing income you eventually get to the point where you can literally
leap frog all your debt. I know from experience how this works – and now you do,
too. Hats off to you.
Best,
P.S. I’ve been getting rave reviews on the Psycho-Cybernetics Success Group.
One guy, however, wrote to say he is spooked a bit by the word ‘meditation.’
I forgot how spooky the term sounded to me many years ago, too. The term
meditation does not imply that you’ll become a Buddhist or Hindu monk, don a
robe, light candles, gong drums, burn incense and chant in foreign tongues. It’s
simply means ‘going within.’ If you pay attention to your inhale and exhale for
one minute, you’ll have an idea of what meditation is. Inhale and watch where
the air goes. Exhale and observe it once more. Do this for 60 seconds and I
guarantee you’ll feel better and different than you did a minute earlier. Ideas
like the above will be amplified greatly in the monthly program you receive.
