Studs Among Us

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

Yesterday I got word on the astounding accomplishments

of a number of Matt Furey Inner Circle members. Pay attention,

there is MAJOR motivation in what you’re going to read.

A year ago I wrote about Lt. Col. Robert Schutz who banged out

100,000 Hindu Squats while stationed in Iraq. His accomplishment

inspired many – including a number of MFIC members who have

already matched the Lt. Col’s marks.

For example, Susan Blais reached 100,000 Hindu Squats about a

month ago. Matt Bell recently nailed the number as well.

Yet, there’s one guy, Tony Griffin, who chose to be a contrarian. Instead

of making his goal about Hindu Squats, he set a pushup and pullup goal.

Read what he recently wrote us when we asked him if he’d reached his

goals:

“Yes, I did reach my goal of 30,000 for extra pushups! In late November,

I reached a little over 30k. However, it wasn’t just Hindu Pushups… I was doing

every type of pushup as part of my “Extra Pushups Per Day Regimen.”

Currently, I am at 33, 140 and looking to hit 35K for the end of the

year.

According to my log, I have topped just over 23K for HP as part of my

standard workouts and should be able to make 24k by end of year. I

have also done over 70k of Hindu Squats this year, but I didn’t make those a

priority. Pull-ups are about to hit 17k for the year, as well.

I was planning to post my goals for 2007 in the forum, but I’ll share

them with you in advance… 110K Hindu Squats, 40K Hindu Pushups,

25K Pull-up, 50K Pushups.

In addition to that, I plan on making at least 5K of every other

exercise in the CC book. Not that those are big numbers, but it will

force me to do better in hitting the ‘peripheral’ exercises.

Thanks for checking in and thanks for the support over the past year or

three!

~Thanks,

Tony Griffin, PMP

M.F. Tony, gotta love your numbers, as well as your drive and humility. I am

so glad to have you as a member in the MFIC. You’re an inspiration to everyone

Year of the Pig Coming

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Next year is the year of the pig – in more ways than

one.

Naturally, I have a unique way of celebrating this event.

And I’m doing it at my Universal Health, Strength and Power

Fitness Bootcamp – which is quickly selling out.

In fact, I’ve figured out a way to roast what I’m calling “your

inner pig” – that pesky varmint within who wants to derail you

from hitting all your fitness goals and targets.

IMG_0100_2.jpg

Well, I have a suprise for this sow or boar – and you’re going to

love how I turn that s.o.b. into a life-long friend who supports

you and helps you hit one success peak after another.

Detached Emotional Success

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Great question came my way today about the role of

emotions in success.

I was asked for specifics about the idea of being emotionally

detached from both positive and negative circumstances.

What exactly does this mean? That was the question.

Let me answer with the following story: In the spring of 1987

I began my first business as a personal fitness trainer. I opened

a studio, got a loan for equipment and negotiated a line-of-credit

with a local weekly magazine to run my ad for six weeks. If they

didn’t give me six-weeks credit I’d have been out of luck as the only

other option was to pay weekly – and I didn’t have a nickel to my name

to pay for the ad, whether it ran once, twice or a hundred times.

When the ad came out the following week, I was very excited. I just

knew the ad was going to work like gangbusters. I sat at my desk

waiting for the phone to ring. Nothing happened.

Not a call. Not a ring – except other magazine and newspaper sales reps

who saw my ad and wanted to sell me ads for their publications.

I kept visualizing the phone ringing. I imagined it deeply. I saw the new prospects

coming to me and handing over the money.

Still nothing.

After eight hours of sitting, my excitement turned into hunger. I needed something

to eat. Rather than sitting to stew about the lack of phone calls – I figured I’d relax and

go eat some stew. I emotionally detached from what I wanted and took a rest.

Upon my return to the office I noticed two messages on my recorder – remember those?

Both were interested in training. I called each back. Botched one – got an appointment

with the other.

Next day I sat waiting for the phone to ring once again. Nothing.

I started the day excited. After eight hours – no excitement. Only hunger.

I repeated the formula from the previous day. Took a rest; went out for a bite.

Again, upon my return, two messages – both interested in training.

Six weeks later I had a full slate of clients to train. I was in business and had the

money to pay for the ads I took out.

I never realized the profound significance of what happened until I delved deeply

into the study of Psycho-Cybernetics.

You take time to visualize. You take time to imagine what you want. And when you

do so you pour every ounce of positive emotion you can muster into the equation.

Then you detach emotionally – go about your business, get busy doing other things.

You don’t sit around trying to force or will things to happen. You allow them to happen.

And you trust that if you do the right things and stay focused – they will happen.

But you cannot make things go faster through sheer force – especially mental force.

There is a time to apply force and a time let the force you’ve summoned apply itself.

Being emotionally detached does not mean that you are emotionless. It means that

you are aware of your emotions at a much higher and deeper level – so deep, in fact,

that you can turn them on or off at will, you can let them flow at your command.

Some months ago a business associate and I went to a worldwide corporate office to

negotiate a program. Whilst we were sitting in the lobby, he got emotional and said,

“I just want to thank you for coming here with me today. It’s been an honor to spend

the day with you and ….”

I cut the guy off. Gently reminded him that we had a purpose for being at this place –

and there would be no celebrating until the game winning touch down was scored.

Once inside the office my associate took note of how I calmly spoke to the big whigs;

how I never raised my voice; didn’t even appear concerned about the outcome, even

though I was obviously working toward something and wasn’t taking “no” for an answer.

No matter how insulting or rude they were at the beginning, I stayed calm. I was not

affected in the least. Didn’t let their emotional state sway mine.

This shocked my friend as he was expecting rah-rah from me. He was expecting animation

and emotion, like he’s seen at all my seminars and trainings. Yet all he witnessed was

me talking in a normal tone of voice.

An hour later we left with what we wanted. And the other party was happy. It was

a win-win.

These are examples of detachment – of having emotional commitments to a goal –

but knowing when to detach and let the energy you’ve generated settle the

account. It’s a little like knowing when to “hold ’em, when to fold ’em, when to

walk away, when to run.”

There’s much more to explain about this process, and members of the Psycho-

Cybernetics Success Group are tuned into what happens next. All of what I’m

teaching is powerful, life-transforming material, supported by the man who

laid the ground work – Dr. Maxwell Maltz.

Hop aboard today at http://www.psycho-cybernetics.com/success_group.html

don’t simply sit back and ask questions. Get involved. Make your life into the

masterpiece it was meant to be.

Eat Your Juice

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

I guess I should take a photo of this because you might

not believe it. When I was in Shanghai a few days ago, at

a fruit stand right next to the hotel I stayed, the watermelons

were piled higher than snowfall after an Iowa blizzard.

It was cold, yet watermelons were basking in the freeze. Hard

to imagine when you consider that watermelon season in the U.S.

only lasts for a few months. Yet in China, day or night, spring, summer,

winter or fall – rain or snow, watermelons abound.

China is the world’s largest producer of this magical fruit. It’s practically

omnipresent. There’s so much that watermelon juice in coffee bars and

restaurants is a normal health drink. And yes, I’m talking about freshly

squeezed watermelon juice – not packaged.

There are some who think drinking fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable

juices are bad for your health. Their reasoning is the so-called high-sugar

content. Or the high glycemic index rating. Unless you’re a diabetic, this

sort of thinking may be well worth deleting from your idea bank.

Truth is there are certain kinds of freshly squeezed juices that promote,

encourage and accelerate fat loss. Watermelon juice is one of them – but

then again, you need to know HOW to drink it – and when – otherwise you

may get sick to your stomach.

Members of the Matt Furey Inner Circle regularly receive updates on what type

of foods to eat, depending on the season, and what these power foods will do

for you. In the near future I’m going to delve into freshly squeezed juices in a

big way. In the itnterim, let me tell you something important about drinking juice

or any other liquid. It may sound a big strange – yet it was a practice recommended

by many of the old-time physical culture heroes, like Charles Atlas.

What is the practice?

It is this: Imagine that the liquid you are drinking is food. And as this liquid goes into

your mouth, imagine chewing it. Take your time. Don’t slug down the whole glass of

juice like you’re doing beer bongs at an idiot frat-rat party. Drink it slowly. Chew the

juice. In doing so you’ll not only enjoy the food, savoring every last drop – but you’ll

feel more energized as well. Just don’t make it obvious when you “chew” otherwise

we have to put you in a rubber room.

Before I go, let me encourage you to become a member of the Matt Furey Inner Circle

so you never miss out on all the splendiferous updates that all my members receive

each month.

Two ways to enroll:

1. Go to http://mattfurey.com/furey_inner_circle.html and receive 7 kick-butt gifts free

or

2. Go to http://mattfurey.com/fg324trfsr3ttai.html and take a test drive – free gifts for

this level as well.

Well, my friend, that’s all for now.

Kick butt – take names,

Matt Furey

P.S. Make sure you enroll in my 2007 Fitness Bootcamp NOW to make sure you not

only get a seat – but a fully-loaded Furey-ized ipod as well. Enrollment is going

strong. Be part of a great thing. Get involved today by sprinting on over to

What Are You Doing to Yourself

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

A great many emails came through the tunnel yesterday.

One from a man who says he wakes up in the middle of the

night, literally overwhelmed with negative thoughts and feelings.

Another from a member of the Psycho-Cybernetics Success Group

who has feelings of inferiority about “claiming” her previous successes

as “good enough.”

Let me begin by replying to the man:

When you wake up and you feel as if your emotions are running you

instead of you running your emotions, it is time to step back and

observe what you are doing to yourself. Begin to gently probe your

conscious mind with questions like, “What do I do to make myself

feel happy? To have peace of mind?”

Begin to make note of how your use your mind when you are at your

best.

Once you’ve done this, take note of what you are doing to yourself when

you feel less than good. Suppose you wake up in a state of panic or fear.

Instead of brow-beating yourself with “I shouldn’t be feeling negative right

now, this is bad” – simply ask yourself, “What am I doing to myself to make

myself feel afraid?”

Take note of how you’re breathing. Take a moment and change the way you

are breathing. Breathe the way you would if you were feeling confident.

Then make a choice to continue breathing that way and go to sleep.

What I have just told you is powerful – but nothing compared to what you’ll

learn when you’re a member of the Psycho-Cybernetics Success Group.

Enroll NOW by going to http://www.psycho-cybernetics.com/success_group.html

Now, let’s hear from one of my members, who wrote:

Dear Matt:

Thank you so much for your thought provoking e-mails and programs. I

have just joined your Psycho-Cybernetics Success Group and have received

my first news letter, scroll and meditation CD. They are terrific and

your piece on conquering your fears could not have been more timely.

Especially helpful and profound is the concept of remaining emotionally

detached to everything that comes to you (positive or negative). How

powerful is that!!!! I have already used that in many situations and

have been much more effective and successful in how I have been able to

interact with people who have been difficult in the past and how I have

approached sensitive situations. I believe that this one concept is going

to have a great impact on my success and my overall peace of mind.

Now my question: In the scroll you ask us to think of 5 times when we

worked hard for something and succeeded. I am having difficulty with

this even though by most standards I have been very successful in many

areas of my life and at most endeavors from childhood through adulthood.

My problem is that every time I think of something that could be called

a success, my mind immediately switches to why it wasn’t good enough. A

simple example is making Cheerleader in college. My mind immediately

goes to: “Yeah but I was really only selected as the alternate because

I choked in the try out and the team was nice enough to vote me on as a

permanent member.” I have done something similar with each example of

success that I can come up with. Any suggestions on how to overcome

this?

Thanks for all of your great work.

Regards,

Patricia

M.F. Patricia, one of the successes to add to your list is your uncanny

ability and willingness to put yourself down when you could be lifting

yourself up. Seriously. This might sound like a smart-aleck reply – yet

it’s the truth. This is nothing to be solved. This is not a “problem.” It’s

merely something you do.

Now, I’m sure, if as you stated, you’ve enjoyed much success throughout

your life, there is no reason to limit yourself to five successes. Let’s

blow this puppy out of the water, shall we? I’d like you to make a much

longer list – and each time you have a “that’s not good enough” thought –

remind yourself that success is what it is, regardless of all the other

factors.

For example, if I study Chinese and learn to speak it, which I have, I can

make up a story that the ONLY reason I’m able to speak Chinese is because

I was too stupid to learn Russian, or Arabic or French. Or I could tell myself

that the only reason I can speak it well is because hardly anyone else in the

U.S. will try. Yet – what possible good am I deriving from these detailed

assessments? None of them reflect reality. They are merely the telling of a

very bad and very boring story. I think you’re tired of hearing the old tales.

That’s why you’ve written to ask me this. Well, you’re now cured. Go in peace

and create everything you truly desire.

All for today – except another reminder to become part of the greatest self-

development movement under the sun. It’s rising like a phoenix from the

ashes – and so will YOU when you’re part of it. Enroll today by going to

Yin & Yang of Exercise

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

If you’ve ever taken a close look at the Chinese

yin/yang symbol – you’ll see that it depicts a circle

with an ‘S’ dividing the inside into two different colors:

black and white is most common.

In the black section of the symbol you’ll see a smaller

white circle; in the white section you’ll see a smaller

black circle.

At first glance you may think the Japanese symbol for

yin/yang is the same – yet it isn’t.

The Chinese yin/yang symbol has many meanings,

but for purposes of this email, I’ll explain it to you in

terms of fitness and health.

In America, many people believe in hard, vigorous,

intense, butt-busting workouts. The idea goes as

follows: If you’re not breaking into a sweat, if you’re

not wiped out after training, if you don’t feel a bit

quesy – then you held back. You didn’t give it all

you’ve got.

As a competitive athlete it is important to understand

giving it all you’ve got. But when you’re talking about

a lifelong habit of exercise – balance is the key. And

that balance is best depicted with the yin/yang symbol.

There’s a little black in the white and a little white in the

black. There is room for a shade of grey. Nothing is only

one way or no way.

When you train, look for ways to give it all you’ve got – but

also balance your vigorous workouts with lighter, feel good

workouts that are designed to leave you uplifted rather than

beaten down.

Combat Conditioninghttp://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html

is powerful because it strikes the core of what gets you fit fast – and

while giving you a vigorous workout, it also leaves you feeling physically

and emotionally balanced. The goal is NOT to drive yourself so hard that you

need to bring a vomit bucket with you when you train. Sadly, some people are

very impressed by this idea of vomiting when they train. Not me.

In addition to the vigorous training you get from Combat Conditioning,

you can add even more balance by following the Chinese Long-Life System –

http://www.chineseculturesecrets.com/long_life.html

As for myself, I train both ways. I do intense workouts designed to produce

an abundant sweat – immediately followed by training that gives me a quiet

mind and a super relaxed body. I put yang into yin and yin into yang.

This is NOT the same as doing a warmup and a cool down in between a hard

training session. It is more like working hard at slowing down, feeling everything,

being in flow.

A strange concept for many, I know. Yet I think you’d be well served to invesitage

further.

Well, my friend, I’m off to the sauna for some hot and cold mixed with warm and

cool.

Kick butt – take names,

Matt Furey

P.S. The signups for my 2007 Fitness bootcamp are pouring in. I’m pleased as

punch, too. Very soon this event will be sold out – and believe me now and listen

to me later, you don’t want to miss this event. It will be a monumental life-changing

experience you will mark on your memory bank forever. I am going to be presenting

information virtually no one has ever seen or heard before – and most of it is coming

straight from China. So enroll NOW while there are still some spots and free i-pods

left. Go to http://www.mattfurey.com/007_fitness_bootcamp.html and fill out the

form that puts you into the room where I will reveal my latest “Insider Secrets.”

Shrink the Time Frame

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Earlier today I received an email from a man in my MasterMind

group. I didn’t realize until now how one thing I said to him earlier

this year affected him. Here’s what he wrote:

“Matt,

I paid off my mortgage today. Wouldn’t have done it

if you hadn’t asked, “You still owe on your mortgage?”

After that MasterMind meeting I went home and told (my wife)

that I was paying the house off before the end of the year.

It seemed a little ambitious then, but now it’s done.

See you soon.

Michael

M.F. Michael, congratulations. Just goes to show how much you can

accomplish when you focus on on a target and commit to making it

a reality. While most people think of a 20 or 30-year mortgage as

the norm – you chose to reframe the idea and shrink the time frame.

There’s no need to take 30 years to do something that can be accomplished

in five to seven years – if not faster.

When it comes to success, it’s good to balance two ideas:

1. You’re willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

2. Once you’ve done something, figure out how to do if better as well as

faster.

For example, if you earn 50k a year, begin to ponder making that same amount

in six months, then three months, then a month, then a week, then in a day, an

hour, a minute, and so on.

Same goes with paying off debts. So many people worry endlessly about their

debts when they’d be far better off concentrating on increasing income. When you

focus on increasing income you eventually get to the point where you can literally

leap frog all your debt. I know from experience how this works – and now you do,

too. Hats off to you.

Best,

Matt Furey

P.S. I’ve been getting rave reviews on the Psycho-Cybernetics Success Group.

One guy, however, wrote to say he is spooked a bit by the word ‘meditation.’

I forgot how spooky the term sounded to me many years ago, too. The term

meditation does not imply that you’ll become a Buddhist or Hindu monk, don a

robe, light candles, gong drums, burn incense and chant in foreign tongues. It’s

simply means ‘going within.’ If you pay attention to your inhale and exhale for

one minute, you’ll have an idea of what meditation is. Inhale and watch where

the air goes. Exhale and observe it once more. Do this for 60 seconds and I

guarantee you’ll feel better and different than you did a minute earlier. Ideas

like the above will be amplified greatly in the monthly program you receive.

Check out the details at http://www.psycho-cybernetics.com/success_group.html

Hot to Cold

Monday, December 4th, 2006

Last night I was at my favorite sauna in Shanghai. The

place is huge with enough room for at least 50 people.

Instead of wooden walls you are surrounded by glass so

that you can watch sports on the idiot box. This is something

I don’t mind so much as it keeps me up on what is happening

in the world. Other than this, I get reports from my son, who

makes it a point to memorize the scores of all the football games

on Sunday – and gives me the run down by phone. He may be

ready for ESPN’s “Stump the Schwab” in about 20 years.

This sauna is not only great because of the glass wall but for another

reason you might be surprised to make note of. Inside the enclosure

is what appears to be a hot tub – yet, instead of hot water, it is filled

with very cold water.

When I saw this I not only thought about the Finns, and how they

sit in the sauna, then run outside to roll in the snow and swim in the

lake – but the Japanese as well. In a number of old Ju-Jutsu books from

the early 1900’s, I read how they loved going from hot to cold baths,

and how this strengthened the body.

I believe it does as well – and was quick to jump in when I could no

longer handle the heat.

In the U.S. everyone is scared shitless of doing such a thing – mostly because

so many people are in such poor health they worry about it killing you. And

I suppose it can kill the slobs with bad hearts, but if you take up the practice

and mix it with a clean diet and good exercise – and if your heart isn’t on the

mend, you’ll most likely benefit from the practice in a big way.

In a few minutes I’m off to Hainan Island again, where I’m working on a few

projects that I want to release soon. I’m very excited about these ideas as they

represent information that has been deeply buried within Chinese culture for

centuries.

In the interim, make sure you’re up to snuff with my Combat Conditioning workout.

It’s an international best-seller – and it’ll change you inside and out – whether you

believe it will or not.

Get on this program and you’ll become a new man or woman within 30 days –

guaranteed.

Go to http://www.mattfurey.com/conditioning_book.html to order NOW.

Kick butt – take names,

Matt Furey

P.S. Seats for my 2007 fitness seminar are filling up fast. Don’t wait and be left

out in the cold. Strike while the iron is HOT. Best way to move on this is by going

Why You Must Relax Before Visualizing

Monday, December 4th, 2006

In order to get the absolute most out of the

time you spend in the Playhouse of Your Mind,

it is imperative that you learn to relax, physically

and mentally.

Why is this.

Because a mind that is filled with stress cannot

easily absorb a new idea.

The good news is that regardless of how much

stress you currently feel, you can learn to relax

very quickly. Regardless of how much of yesterday

you are carrying into today, you can get yourself

to emotionally deflate within seconds.

One of the fastest ways is to pay attention to your

breathing. Watch yourself breathe. Inhale deeply.

Pay attention to the air filling your lungs. Exhale

deeply. Feel the old energy leaving your body.

After a few deep breaths you’ll wonder where all

the mental stress went and once you get your

muscles to simply ‘let go’ you’re ready to work

on improving your self-image. You’re ready to

begin building the NEW YOU – the person you

instinctively know you can be – the person you

really really want to be.

It is great idea to visualize for a few minutes just

before lopping off to sleep. But be careful. Avoid

the temptation to lie down for your ‘Theatre of the

Mind’ session. Sit up in bed or sit on the side of your

bed with your feet on the floor. This will help you

avoid falling asleep before you get to the highlights.

If you visualize before sleep your subconcious mind

will work on your goals while you’re in dream state.

And that’s a wonderful thing to know.

If you tend to doubt the effect that what you think about

before sleep has on your next day, then consider this.

Most people go to bed with a final thought of ‘I’m tired.’

Hence, they wake up tired.

The very first day you say to yourself, ‘Tomorrow I’m

going to wake up feeling totally energized and refreshed.’ –

you will discover that you no longer wake up feeling tired.

Try it if you don’t believe me. I dare you.

Last of all, for guidance in building a powerful, dynamic and

magnetic self-image, be sure to get your hands on Dr. Maltz’

Zero Resistance Living course. It will change your life and quickly, too.

Go to http://www.psycho-cybernetics.com/zrlcourse.html and order

NOW.

Best,

Matt Furey

P.S. I’ll be speaking on a wealth cruise in late February of next year with

62 Furey-ized i-pods Left

Friday, December 1st, 2006

This coming February I’m having the most incredible health

and fitness bootcamp imaginable.

At this bootcamp I’m going to reveal the biggest training

secrets I’ve learned in China – information I have never

taught before at a seminar or in my writings.

This secret is HUGE because it has to do with extending

your life while maintaining superior health. It has to do

with improving every system of your body, strengthening

every organ – AND improving memory and mind power.

This means the possible prevention of diseases like

Alzheimers.

Those who attend this bootcamp will be positively changed

and charged forever.

And to make sure the impact continues to flow after the event,

I have a big-time gift for all those who have already registered –

as well as those who get in NOW while the 62 remaining spots

are available.

What is the gift? you ask.

It’s a fully loaded i-pod containing an easy thousand bucks worth of

classic Matt Furey audio and video. These i-pods will be given out at

the bootcamp – and the information on them will be riveting and life-

changing. Much of it most people have never seen before.

You cannot get this i-pod if you’re not at my bootcamp in February.

And believe me, you DO WANT to have this collector’s item.

So make sure you mark your calendar NOW and get enrolled in my

bootcamp. Go to http://www.mattfurey.com/007_fitness_bootcamp.html

to get on board.

Again, only 62 spots are left and only those who enroll right away can

qualify for a brand new Furey-ized i-pod.

Let’s get ready for next year NOW by taking action to-day.

Best,

Matt Furey
