5 Second Abs Before Breakfast

One of the great things about Combat Abs is that

the main exercise, The Farmer Burns Stomach

Flattener, which is frequently done before breakfast,

doesn’t take much time. Just 10 repetitions or so –

and the rigorous part of the exercise lasts only

2-5 seconds.

Why Bridging Eliminates Back Pain

When it comes to the exercise called bridging,

you’ll find it to be an art, a science and one helluva

workout.

There are many variations of the bridge – and the one

I’m most famous for teaching is the”wrestler’s bridge” –

sometimes erroneously referred to as a “neck bridge.”

Calling this wonderful total body exercise a “neck

bridge” makes about as much sense as calling pushups

“wrist benders.”

When you do a wrestler’s bridge correctly you are using

your lower back, abdominals, hips, buttocks, legs and

diaphragm MORE than your neck. So you have to be an

idiot to call it a “neck bridge.”

Not only that but bridging is one of the all-time best

exercises for eliminating lower back pain. How could

this be if it was all about the neck.

Yes, there are a few people who bash the bridge – but

their bashing comes from ignorance rather than real

world science. Those who slam bridging don’t know how

to do a bridge correctly – and they really don’t want to

because they have something else to sell you, like a

ridiculous neck machine, neck harness or another

neck routine. It’s all bunk and junk compared to the

overall benefits of bridging – along with the other neck

and back exercises I teach in Combat Conditioning.

Bridging helps eliminate back pain for many reasons –

foremost of which is the fact that it simultaneously

stretches and strengthens the muscles of the back

and core while giving the spine a much needed

arch.

The very act of sitting causes the vertebrae to compress –

so each time you bridge, even if over a ball, you relieve

pressure from the spine and increase energy throughout

the entire system. Your spine is the electrical switch for

the entire body – so anytime you work on increasing

flexibility in the spine via bridging – you light your

body from within.

Your internal organs, spine, brain and muscles benefit.

And when combined with deep breathing, chi flow

throughout all the body’s meridians expands. This

also accounts for the “glow” and peace of mind you

will feel after holding for three minutes. Your body

and mind have been joined – at the hip, spine and

core.

Pain, Pain Go Away

stress work – you begin to tense and tighten

Remove the Knots in Your Back and Shoulders

Two years ago, after a tough grappling workout,

I woke up with a large knot in the middle of my back.

As you can probably guess – the knot made it

hard to breathe fully and turn from side to side.

I’m not used to getting knots as I continually stretch

and relax the muscles of my body through physical

and mental exercises.

But every once in a while, after a tough workout,

I get tweaked. The first thing I used to do when

this happens is move around on a styrofoam roller

to break up the tension.

Then I’d get my back walked on.

After this I may get some deep tissue work done.

And then I’d splash a Chinese herbal solution on

the area.

Usually this was enough to nuke the problem area.

But not always. Some knots are stubborn –

especially if you need to keep doing what gave

you the knot in the first place.

This is what happens to many, many people. They

have knots in their shoulders and backs and legs

and they got these knots while at work. And because

they have to keep going to work – they learn to frown

and bear it.

But they don’t have to.

A few weeks ago, after a rugged rope climbing workout,

I got the first knot in my back since the one from two

years ago. And the good news is I removed it without

massage, acupuncture, herbs or a styrofoam roller.

It went away easily and effortlessly. And FAST.

The method I used works for knots in the shoulders

and back. It also helps remove pain from most areas

of the body – including your head – if you ever get

aches there.

My True Opinion of Yoga

I get a TON of emails every day from people

asking me about yoga. Well I’m going to answer

them once and for all right now.

I think yoga helps people get flexible, eliminate pain

and experience peace of mind. It also helps with

strength, balance and weight loss – IF you are following

a program that isn’t dumbed down to the least common

denominator -and in many cases, that’s exactly what you get

in this country.

So many people are wimpy and weak that many of

the yoga teachers themselves don’t know the truly

powerful way to train for supreme results. Many teach

nothing but watered-down fluff – not the stuff that

gives the results you’re seeking.
