Do Me a Favre-r

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Hey, I got an idea. I’m going to announce my retirement. Then I’m going to play peekaboo – coming out of retirement, then making yet another comeback – over and over.

I figure if I start now, in 2008, it’ll take the average person four or five years to catch on.

Seriously, if you’ve been enjoying the media coverage of Brett Favor, er, Favre’r – like I have, you’ve got to acknowledge that this is one helluva great marketing move – even though it’s all being done without much deliberation.

Earlier this morning I read a John Alanis email entitled “Don’t Be a Favre.” He said that Favre is a style over substance quarterback – who plays the game without a plan – who makes fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants decisions – as well as a lot of fumbles and interceptions that cost his team championship after championship.

Twas a good email. I agree with parts of it and disagree with other parts. As a lifelong athlete and martial artist, champions are usually a combination of instinct AND a plan. If your battle plan has a flaw, you MUST be able to change gears and go with your gut. You must have the ability to pull ideas from the ethers, if need be, and make them work on the spot.

Trying to be 100% about the plan or 100% instinct is usually NOT a good idea for the elite peak performer. Both are essential if you want to be great. I’m not sure what Brett’s percentages are – but one thing is for certain – he has Hall of Fame numbers – and he’s one of my Favre-orite QBs to watch.

In spite of the above, the question that’s been dogging my subconscious for days on end is this: What do the GB Packers know about Favre that they ain’t saying.

Come on. Think for a moment. You got this guy Aaron Rodgers, and energetically speaking, in the game of his life he’s got LESS oomph than Brett Favre does when throwing passes to a group of high school kids. The contrast is unremarkable.

Favre may be 38, he may have retired, or something close to it, five or six times – but the fact is he did kick some serious butt last year. So why would you offer him several millions to NOT report. why would you not let him compete for the starting job. Afterall, the purpose of having an NFL franchise is simple: TO WIN GAMES.

So why wouldn’t you bring the guy back who has won more games for your team than anyone else. Unless you know something you’re not saying.

It cannot be the “We want new blood” excuse either. New blood is fine, when it’s ready to outshine the old blood.

Here endeth my opinion on this matter.

Now, should the Bucs do themselves a Favre-r – bringing Brett to Tampa Bay. Well, twould be nice for my son and I to watch on Sundays – but I don’t think it’s a good fit. I’d rather see him go to the Bears – so they can play the GBPs twice and pound the cheese out of them.

*****

One more thing, in order to keep Brett Favre rejuvenated and full of several more years of unretired spunk, I suggest he invest in the The Chinese Long-Life System as well as Dao Zou

These two programs will keep him and YOU in the prime of your life for years to come.

No More Hump Days

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

If you go home from work today and sit on the couch to watch tee-vee; if you eat a big ole meal and go to bed without doing something physical; then tomorrow will be HUMP DAY for you.

HUMP DAY is the Wednesday that tired, fatigued and emotionally drained people have. It is also, in some ways, a type of language used by people who have humps.

Dowager’s hump from sitting before a computer for hours a day.

Butt humps from – well, sitting all day.

Belly humps from not exercising and eating all the wrong foods.

And muscle humps wherein your body is out of balance.

For me, tomorrow is Wednesday. It’s not hump day. And the truth is I wouldn’t even know it’s Wednesday except for the fact that my wife called me a bit ago to tell me so. Otherwise I’d have no idea.

Why. Because when you exercise the way I do – with the The Chinese Long-Life System

in the morning and Dao Zou

in the evening – your life goes into a state of FLOW.

When you’re in a state of flow – work is play. There’s no pain or drudgery attached to it. Moreover, you have a decreased desire to keep track of time because you’re enjoying every single moment.

You’re breathing – you’re relaxed – you’re savoring each moment.

No angst. No stress. No worries.

Sure, just like anyone else, problems can surface – but regardless, you breathe, relax and savor – and get over them quickly.

In doing so you discover that life does not have to turn you into a stressed out lunatic. You stay calm in the midst of chaos by reconnecting to Nature through exercise that opens you up – body, mind and soul.

The The Chinese Long-Life System

opens the meridians in the body through gentle exercises and slaps to various pressure points. Do it in the morning and you’ll run off to work without a worry in the world.

In the evening, it’s good to purge all the negativity from the day by rewinding your mind with Dao Zou

. This series of exercises will revitalize and recharge you while transforming stress into peace and tranquility.

Don’t be surprised when people notice you’re looking younger – as well as sporting a new found glow that is magnetic.

Don’t be surprised if you get asked, “How do you stay so centered and calm when everyone else if freaked out.”

At this point you can smile and say, “Ancient Chinese Secret.”

Indeed, it IS.

Learn these ancient secrets NOW.

And remember – no more hump days.

30 May Be Too Old

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Yesterday’s email on heavy weight lifting NOT being a good idea after age 40 might be the closest thing to “the shot heard round the world” in a long time.

This morning our company email box was filled with stories from men and women in their late 40’s, 50’s and 60’s who wholeheartedly agree. Most said they would have been better off stopping sooner by

As you might imagine, there were also a great many emails from those caught in the thick of hell. On the one hand they’ve been sold the heavy weight training myths so long their brains are wired wrong – yet, on the other hand, despite bigger muscles and greater strength, the other part of reality is they are BANGED up – and banged up bad.

Just as I stated yesterday. Lower back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain and so on.

Getting up in the middle of the night is a potential hazard – and not for the toilet bowl. For those whose bodies go snap, crackle and kapop with every move.

Not good, my friend. Not good.

Last night, in a conversation with Eddie Baran – author of Gymnastic Abs – himself a convert AWAY from weights after getting my book in Y2K – he said, “After age 40. Hell. Most of the people I’ve seen in the gyms, myself included are banged up in their 30’s.”

Right he is.

I told Eddie that based upon observation of other lifelong athletes and martial artists, you’ll see that those with the greatest longevity, as well as those who do NOT ignore their body’s warning signals – are willing to

change how they train at a certain stage in their career.

In Chinese martial arts, for example, only the dummies would keep training in “hard-style” styles after the age of 40. Sure, they may do the “external” style of training once or twice a week – but they simultaneously begin to train in the “internal” arts MOST of the time. To their amazement, over and over again, these martial arts discover their greatest strength comes from training in the softer internal arts.

Without the hard-core training, they master their level of energy to the point in which they can physically render a hard-stylist humble in a matter of milliseconds. I have been on the receiving end of an energetic strike – and let me tell you, it will strike fear into your heart FAR faster than getting whacked full force.

A full force hit can do damage – no doubt – but a hit directed with internal energy can drop you in your tracks with no visible explanation.

And this is my point when it comes to training after the age of 40. You can keep trying to be a hero to impress others – only to lose your health in the process. Or you can harness the power of the Universe for internal purposes. Ironically, without trying to impress anyone but yourself – others will be shocked at the changes they can observe in you.

This is true if you follow my Combat Conditioning program – an international best-seller for nine straight years.

It is even MORE true, though, if you follow the programs I brought to the U.S. straight from the heart of China. Those two clock rewinding programs, the The Chinese Long-Life System

and Dao Zou – are astounding people across the plains, prairies and oceans.

How can these simple energetic exercises contribute so much to your mind, body and soul.

Well, we can speculate as to the reasons – and there are many – but more important than speculation is action. This means “getting” the program and using it.

Mark my words, if you follow the programs I brought to the U.S. from China, your life will change in numerous ways.

You’ll destress. You’ll rewind. You’ll recharge, rejuvenate and rebuild.

You’ll start feeling like a young child again – not an old, clanky and clunky machine that’s almost ready for the scrap heap.

Dao Zou and the The Chinese Long-Life System. Make sure you pick these programs up and begin utilizing pronto – http://mattfurey.com/laughing_buddha_special.html

Then write me and let me know how well they’re working for you.

I expect nothing short of miracles.

P.S. I’ll work some of your questions about back pain, shoulder pain and so on into the mix very soon. Keep ’em coming.

When to Quit Lifting Weights

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I’m going to go out on a limb here. I’m going to write something that will most likely upset a lot of people.

Here tis:

After the age of 40, if you’re still lifting heavy weights or pumping heavy iron, you’re harming yourself far more than you’re helping. And you run the risk of living the rest of your life in pain.

Yes, I realize there are plenty of people older than forty who still pump iron, and they’ll swear by it. And hey, if that is what they want to do, no argument from me.

Yet, in most of these cases, if you’ll explore deeply – and IF those who are pumping the heavy duty iron were to ‘fess up’ – you’d know that they have back pain, shoulder pain, elbow and knee pain – and a lot of muscular pain. When they get out of bed each day, it’s a struggle to get to the showers.

In many respects, their body is trashed from being thrashed. Yet they’re too macho to stop – or to stubborn to admit the truth to themselves.

Or they’re just plain ignorant of the fact that body weight exercises are FAR superior in many, many ways.

I used to be there myself – until I woke up one April afternoon back in 1999. Since that time all the stiffness, all the residual pain, and all the ailments I had already accumulated – left me.

I was 36 then. Beat up from years of weights, wrestling and martial arts training – but MOSTLY from weights.

When I gave up the weights in favor of other methods of training that had a much better track record – one that included improved joint health, agility, mobility, strength, endurance and flexibility – I never looked back.

But I have looked at all the banged up, beaten to the pulp bodies of the macho weight lifters. They may be able to put on a good show in public – but I assure you, in private they are constantly patching themselves back together.

When you train with your own bodyweight, you can simultaneously increase strength, endurance and flexibility – and do so without all the unnecessary risks of pumping iron.

If you feel you must train with iron after the age of 40, heed my suggestions. Do NOT train with heavy weights. Instead, use lighter weights and focus like a laser. It’s been proven over and over that you can become a strongman without using heavy weights. The Mighty Atom, Joseph Greenstein, is a perfect example of this.

If you’re looking for something that will amplify ALL the attributes of physicality over the age of 40, then you owe it to yourself to look at my Combat Conditioning and Combat Abs books.

And if you’d like to begin feeling like you’ve reversed the time clock, then I strongly encourage you to go deeper within your body, into the very meridians and core where internal energy and chi flow are king – not the size of your muscles.

Two of my best-selling courses taken straight from the roots of China, work like magic to restore your health while improving the functioning of your mind. I’m talking about reduced stress, fatigue and insomnia. I’m also talking about clearer thinking, a sharper memory and the ability to connect more deeply to Universal Power.

These two courses, the The Chinese Long-Life System and Dao Zou will guide you to levels of well being you’ve never experienced before.

Do the CLLS program in the morning, paying particular attention to massage the three vital LONG LIFE pressure points. Use Dao Zou in the evening when you want to de-stress and “unwind your mind.”

Use these programs each day and within 30 days you’ll feel like a new person. In fact, recent testimonials on these programs state that results are seen and felt within 2 days.

Results in 2 Days – Or Less

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Take a look at a couple emails I recently received about my Chinese health and fitness programs – along with my uncensored comments:

Matt,

Just wanted to touch base with you on the phenomenal results from the Dao Zou program I recently ordered. I am suffering with sciatica, and have used exercises from some of your other exercise programs, but these have not alleviated my problem. But, to my amazement, after just 2 days of Dao Zou with my thumbs positioned in my back and the hands clasped energy position my pain is almost nil.

And believe me, if you have ever suffered from sciatica this is a big deal. My concentration and energy levels are also up along with a happier disposition. I can’t wait to utilize the full program and reap all the benefits. If someone does not believe any of your programs will not help them with a particular ailment, all they have to do is get off the couch and try your programs and be prepared to be amazed.

Thanks again

Sam

P.S. Matt, I noticed in the video you used the “f” word and it caused me to be embarrassed and I am certainly glad my children weren’t around to hear what you said. In the future I was wondering if you could offer a “G” rated version for us goody-2-shoes. I certainly appreciate you and your efforts of enlightenment in the exercise world. Press on.

MJF: Sam, thanks for the kind words and for the scolding about my language. I cannot recall using the ‘F’ word in this series as I was doing my best to be mainstream – HA. Perhaps there was a recording error. Or because the DVDs were recorded in China, maybe it was a weird sound effect from someone tossing food out the window at me. Not sure. I’ll do my best to curtail any and all swearing in the future – uggh.

Matt,

Thank you for providing the 1/2 off sale. With it I ordered and quickly received the materials in the Dao Zou and the The Chinese Long-Life System. I want to share with you what happened next and please understand as I do, that I’m not usually one for testimonials. However what happened to me in such a short time is worth noting.

I watched and practiced the programs for ONLY TWO DAYS.

On the morning of third day, my wife and I embraced after our morning routines as we met for our breakfast. She leaned back in my arms and looked at me, as if studying my face and volunteered “You are looking younger.”

OK the compliment was nice, especially from someone who normally does not give them out freely. What fascinates me though is this: My wife did not know that I ordered, received or had started the course. She was away during that period. So I really took note when she made her comment/compliment after only two days practice. I’m looking forward to her further reactions as I continue to practice and progress.

Thank you for making these important materials available.

Daniel

MJF: That’s awesome, Daniel. I was almost inclined to think your wife was psychic – but I know better. When you follow these programs, the change is dramatic. Yet, it is somewhat counter-intuitive to what the average Americano is exposed to. I’m thrilled you have the programs and am certain you’ll be receiving more and more comments in the future – including ones about how calm, stress-free and poised you are.

No Fatigue on Friday

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Here in the western world, many people are taught to take every set of exercise to failure. They’re taught to train hard, harder and harder still.

Others talk about training until you puke – making this the goal – as if throwing up while training is a good thing.

Naturally, these same people also need a day or three or five in between workouts. It takes them forever to recover from something that is supposed to be good for you.

Yet, interestingly enough, in China, athletes train every single day. So do martial artists.

Aren’t they tired. Aren’t they worn out. Don’t they need a day or a week to recover.

No.

And there are some very easy to understand reasons for this – IF you are somewhat open to understanding basic physiological processes.

First of all, who is the model the Chinese martial artists use to describe the WAY of progress.

The model is none other than a baby.

“When a baby cries – his whole body cries,” Master Adam Hsu once told me. “Yet when he grabs your finger, he doesn’t use anything but his hand.”

So we know a baby is physically relaxed in most of his body – even while active.

Now let’s take breathing.

When a baby breathes – does he or she breathe from the upper chest and throat – like most adults – or from the lower belly – like ALL other babies.

Watch a baby sometime and you’ll see that without exception, they are lower belly breathers.

Now let’s take the mind of the baby. Is the baby preoccupied with yesterday or tomorrow – or next year.

No.

The baby lives fully in the present moment. He’s aware of his environment, his body, his breathing. And his objective is to turn everything he sees, touches and does into fun.

Because of this the baby energy centers are WIDE OPEN. He can run circles around a room full of adult athletes and not be fatigued. And if he ever does fall to the floor exhausted, he recovers within a minute or so and begins again.

Some babies are good sleepers; some are not so good. Regardless, once they’re awake, babies are human energy machines.

Now, ever wonder if you can sort of rewind the clock and become more like that energetic baby who lives in the present moment, without stress and misery.

Well, the answer is – you CAN.

Two of my best-selling products, taken straight from the roots of China – teach your qi, jing and shen (mind/body/spirit) how to be child-like again. This means an elimination of fatigue. It means you can train everyday, if you so choose. It means you can fly across the world and get off the plane looking and feeling refreshed.

No jet lag. No eye bags. No whining about being tired.

Young children don’t “jet lag” off a plane. They sprint off and immediately begin playing.

At the end of a rough day, why not recharge, rejuvenate and recover in such a way that you’re “rewinding your mind” and your body.

Why not go to bed feeling totally relaxed and complete – able to sleep soundly because you are back in touch with Nature – not divorced from her as most people are.

Makes sense to me.

After yesterday’s email wherein I talked about two of my now famous Chinese products – The Chinese Long-Life System and Dao Zou – many people wrote to ask which program to start with.

The answer is that either program is good to begin with – but I believe the CLLS system is best done in the morning before work – or during work when you have a break.

Dao Zou can also be done anytime, but I believe it is best for your health and recovery when done at night.

Why – because the program tends to rewind your mind. This means at the end of a stressful day – when you are NOT living in the present moment – when you’re not breathing properly – then Dao ZouCLLS directly massages longevity and recovery pressure points – thereby opening the meridians of the body.

Dao Zou101 Ways to Magnetize Money is flipping like hot cakes on a early Sunday morning. Make sure you get in on the pre-publication offer that will be ending very soon.
