If You Hate Me …

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

If you’ve ever done a Google search under the term

Matt Furey” you’ve probably seen a few negative, jeaolus,

spiteful things said about me. You may not realize, however,

that the things said about me are also libelous, slanderous

and totally false.

Those who have ever met me in person know that I am a

very kind, giving, generous and helpful soul. And I never

do anything to hurt anyone. Unfortunately, there are those

who don’t give me back the same treatment I give others.

Instead, through petty jealousy and resentment, they attack

all the good that I do.

In the past I ignored it. I’m not now.

In the past I was also given very bad advice from people who were

close to me. They told me there was nothing I could do to stop it

because … “you’re a public figure.”

Although I may be a celebrity, I am not a public figure. I do have

rights and I will exercise them.

Recently my wife and I took a look at some of the nasty stuff

being written about me online. One coming from a fellow wrestler whom

I helped with his marketing a few years back. In turn, after I was kind to

him, he turned like a rabid dog, engaged and connected with the venom of

others, and has proceeded to try his best to bring me and my family down.

In the very letter posted on his website it is very clear that this person and

his buddy have malicious intent – and therefore, after a long discussion with

my wife, we have decided to take immediate action to rectify these wrongful acts.

So this is fair warning to anyone talking crap about me on the Internet.

You are herewith advised to remove any and all negative, libelous, slanderous

and defaming mention of me from your websites – or accept the consequences,

in the form of “legal man.”

As my wife said last night, “You may hate me and my husband, but I assure

you that you will hate the attorneys we hire one million times more.”

If you’re buying my name on Google adwords and using any sort of derogatory

headlines like “Matt Furey sucks” or “Matt Furey scam” or anything of the sort –

be ready to defend yourself. The money sucking lawyers are coming your way

NOW.

This is the ONLY warning you will receive.

If you’ve put up copyrighted photos of me or my wife on your website to mock,

jeer or tarnish, or for any other reason – this is the ONLY warning you will ever

get. Your website will be owned by me in short order if this continues.

salute you and offer my hand and my heart in friendship.

How Many Ways Can You See Yourself

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

Think about this for a moment. How many ways can you come up with to 'see yourself?'

In your imagination, can you make yourself bigger, taller, smaller, lighter? Can you make yourself heavier, softer, lighter, rougher or more relaxed?

Can you make yourself smile, frown, laugh, cry?

Can you see yourself as physically fit and healthy? As a success in business; in relationships; in school; as a speaker, writer, teacher, coach or mentor?

Can you see yourself traveling the world, living here and abroad?

Can you see yourself as young, vibrant and healthy, regardless of your age?

Can you see yourself helping others live a great life, teaching them to grow through self-imposed limitations?

My friend, the better you are at seeing yourself in different ways, the easier it will be to 'ZERO in' on the way you really want to be. Everything starts with a vision, with an image you carry around in the theatre of your own mind.

The way you see yourself determines virtually everything you get in life. If you think you're unlucky, you will be. If you see yourself as lucky and somehow favored by others, you will be.

If you believe you have the stuff of greatness within you, then you'll find a way to create a corresponding reality for yourself on the outside.

If you think of yourself as in control of how you eat, how much you weigh, what size clothes you fit into – and if you form powerful mental snap shots of the NEW YOU – you will begin doing the things that the new person in your mind's eye represents.

Don't believe me? Then take the following test. Every day for the next 21 days, mentally pretend that you are exercising regularly and enjoying it immensely. Mentally pretend that you are eating healthy foods, avoiding junk food and feeling good about doing so.

Don't make any change whatsoever in your behavior. Simply take 15 minutes a day to imagine that you're exercising right now. Take 10 minutes imagining that you're eating healthy foods and that doing so is making you leaner.

If you're willing to do this, I think you're going to discover something unusual happening. Without an ounce of will power – you'll naturally be drawn to exercising and eating right. And you'll start wanting to do these things. You'll literally have a burning desire to do them.

Get the vision. Use your creative imagination and then watch as it begins to unfold and become your new reality.

Hard Work is NOT the Answer

Monday, April 9th, 2007

One of my favorite movies of all-time is

Caddyshack – one of those golf classics starring

Bill Murray, Ted Knight, Rodney Dangerfield,

Chevy Chase and Lacy Underall (whoops, that's

what she was called in the movie – great name

by the way).

Anyway, in one scene Bill Murray shouts, 'IT'S

IN THE HOLE.' This is when he is playing imaginary

golf on a flower bed. Instead of whacking golf balls

he's destroying knocking flower petals into the air.

The line, 'It's in the hole' became a favorite I used for

another wonderful pastime I enjoy from time to time: pool.

Last night I got together with some friends to play. I

don't play often and I'm not great – but I enjoy it because

when I focus on what I want, i.e. picture the ball going

in the hole before I make the shot, I can play pretty well,

in spite of not being trained.

Anyway, before the third game I played, I pictured to myself knocking

three balls in on the break. I imagined it vividly. Then I told my friend, 'Watch me

hit three balls in from this shot.'

He looked at me and laughed.

I hit the cue ball and … one, two … annnndd – YES – three balls went into

the pockets.

I jumped up and down, excited as could be. 'See, I told you

what I was going to do,' I exclaimed.

I told the father and son I was playing against what I did, how

I visualized the balls going in one by one – then made the mistake

of teaching it to them. This made for much stiffer competition.

Again, I'm no master of the game of pool – but I'll say this – last

night I was playing at least 50% better than I normally do – and so

were my partners.

Just goes to show that everything starts in your mind.

A lot of people will tell you that the "secret" of success is nothing but

hard work. This advice is neither motivating, nor, in my opinion, true.

Yet you hear this advice given ALL THE TIME from people who don't

work hard themselves, yet are very successful.

Successful people don't "work hard." They PRACTICE. And when

they practice they often have no sense of time, no sense of "Gee, I'm really

working hard." Why? Because they love what they're doing.

Anyone who approaches exercise with the "hard work" mentality doesn't

last long. Those who approach it with the "I'm going to practice" or "I'm

going to train" attitude, fares much better.

No matter what level of skill you get to in whatever you do, the key to continued growth is practice.

It is NOT hard work. The more you practice something the better you get. And the better you get the

LESS work it requires. The easier a task becomes the more you enjoy it. In fact, that's when you

really know you love something. But when it's drudgery, when it's "hard work" – there's no joy

in what you're doing.

Today, before you exercise, instead of dreading the "hard work" you've been told is required,

do something different. Do as I did before knocking three balls in at once. Take some time

to mentally pretend and imagine your routine. See yourself doing superbly. See yourself

training and practicing with confidence and passion.

Practice the mental movie of your routine first; then go practice the physical routine. If you do

this I guarantee you'll have the best workout you've had in a long, long time.

Expect Some Surprises

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

At the present I’m putting together a new book, so I haven’t

sent many email lately. Also, I’ve been figurring out a way to pull

together the “best of the best” when it comes to success in the office,

in the home or out of the “playing field.”

A great many of you are interested in straight marketing know-how.

Others are interested in improving sales or learning how to change

your self-image to attract wealth.

Others want help moving forward in their careers.

Some want help with relationships, attaining a constant state of flow, peace

of mind, health and happiness.

Then there are those who want to overcome addictions, negative tendencies,

and so on.

I recently came up with an innovative way to address all of these things in the

same email – so look for it soon. It will be different – but I think you’re going to

like it.

By the way, I am also starting a Silver Level MasterMind program wherein you’ll

receive a Zero Resistance Marketing DVD each month, along with some other

goodies.

To qualify for this program you’ll need to have the DVD’s from my “Hot to Build

an Info-Publishing Empire on the Internet” seminar – which I have previously

kept under lock and key.

You can get them NOW and get programmed for financial and personal success

by going to http://www.knockoutmarketing.com

How to Turn a Crisis into an Opportunity

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

A Personal Message from
Matthew Furey

How to Turn a Crisis into an Opportunity

Last week a member of the

Matt Furey Inner Circle put up the following on our private "member's only" discussion board. It's so powerful I've decided to send to you – followed by my comments:

Subject: Thank you, Matthew
Message: I am writing this because I feel my story needs to be told. I started using

Psycho-Cybernetics late last year. In that time, my wife decided she wanted a divorce, took my children, and I felt terrible for a while.

Bad, huh? But that is not where it ends.

Now, I realize that those failures needed to happen to spur me on to greater things. My marriage was growing increasingly stale as I sought self-improve- ment and my wife was content in her misery. My servo-mechanism, I believe, led us to go our separate ways. Now, my finances are getting back on track and my career is taking off like a rocket.

I have gone to Soldier Boards and was named January's Soldier of the Month for my unit, 2nd Quarter Soldier of the Quarter for the Battalion, and now I've been named the Brigade's Soldier of the Quarter and I am in the running for Soldier of the Year. I would like to credit you and Dr. Maltz for your help in getting me on the right track. I realize that even though I went through my ordeals alone, I had plenty of help.

Thank you, Matthew Furey, and may God bless you.

Sincerely,
A.M.

M.F.: Thank you, A.M. More important though, congratulations on seeing reality for what it is. When you're in success mode – you interpret the so- called negatives as leading you toward your goals. The setbacks are not setbacks at all – but rather new launching pads. The temporary situation may hurt, it may sting – but it is all for the best.

I have two people in my Fearless Success Coaching Program

who have experenced or gone through very similar circumstances and BOTH will tell you they are all the better for it. In relationships, it is tough when one person wants to grow and the other wants to cling.

Grab a hand full of water sometime. Then squeeze your hand tight and see how much is left. This is an important metaphor to remember about most anything.

Glad to see you transcending this situation and making a choice to be bigger than any pain you've endured.

My Secret for Instantly Improving Anything

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Many of you are aware that I started my athletic career as both swimmer and wrestler. Sort of an odd combination, don’t you think?

At any rate, one of the things I began doing as a young boy, that I was never formally taught, was a very simple but powerful task that can easily double, if not triple your results.

Here tis: Just before I went to sleep at night, I made a list of the exercises I was going to do the next day and how many I would do of each.

The next day, upon arising, I would glance at my list, then get to work. Oftentimes I began the day with a 2-3 mile run, followed by pushups, situps, pullups, dips, rope skipping – and so on.

After college I dropped the practice of making a list – opting instead to simply ‘remember’ what to do.

Now, I’m not saying I ‘forgot’ what to do when I didn’t have a list. What I am saying is that ‘the list’ represented specific goals I wanted to accomplish in my workout.

And when I referred to making a list – then made a little ‘check’ mark or ‘V’ for Victory next to each task I finished, I found that the practice built confidence, power and a feeling of momentum.

A couple years ago, during one of my frequent visits to my second home on China’s Hainan Island, I went bowling with my brother-in-law. It was the first time I had picked up a bowling ball since 1997.

Anyway, the first day we just bowled – and as I’m not an avid bowler, and not very technical, I was happy to hit a 147 for my high of the day.

Then I got to thinking. The best score I had ever gotten in bowling was 154, and that was back in high school, when we went once a week for a six or eight-week period.

So I looked for and found a slip of paper on the desk, asked myself what score I would like to hit before leaving to come back to the states. My answer was 180. Considering I rarely bowl and have ‘caveman’ technique, this was quite a stretch.

Nevertheless, I folded the paper and put it in my jacket.

Over the course of the next four days, my brother-in-law and I went bowling every day. And my scores were, pretty much, what they had been for 20+ years.

But then, on the last day of my trip, in the third game, I was on fire. Nearly every frame was a strike or a spare. The numbers were adding quickly and I sensed I would meet my goal.

After the final score was tallied by computer, I nearly fell over when I saw I hit 182. What a thrill. I pulled the slip of paper out and showed my brother-in-law. He looked at me, smiled and said, ‘You’re lucky.’

Although I smiled back and said, ‘Yes, I’m very lucky,’ I disagreed. It wasn’t luck. It was mental preparation and the science of achieving predetermined goals. It was taking time to think about what you want ‘in advance’ instead of diving in and accepting whatever is dealt. It was EXPECTING to make good things happen.

I took the folded paper out of my jacket and put a check mark on it. Done. Another VICTORY.

Making a list works. If you’re just starting out and haven’t trained in years, don’t make 2-3 miles and 500 Hindu Squats your goal for today. Start with a goal to do as many pushups or squats as you can. And the honest truth is that for some people, this means 1 or 2 pushups and a few squats.

No matter how far down you are on the chart, there is hope for you. Or, as the saying goes, ‘Falling into the deepest hole is nothing to fear. It simply means you’re now in perfect position to climb the world’s tallest mountain.’

Start making a list before bed each night and I guarantee, within a few months you’ll be amazed at how much better your list becomes. Consult your list before you workout and watch how much you ‘instantly’ improve. If I can do it at the bowling alley, you can do it with your own body – or anything else you want to succeed in.

Rise Up NOW!

Matthew Furey

P.S. What I have described is something I teach in extraordinary detail to those in my Fearless Success Coaching Program. I have three more opening in the program, so if you want to be coached by me – if you want to succeed beyond what you used to think was possible for you – then be sure to investigate.

How Do You See Yourself?

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

I went to bed late last night after doing a bit of creative work which caused me to lose track of time. Next thing I knew it was 3 a.m.

Just before lopping off into R.E.M. sleep, I remembered something important: ‘Make sure you program your mind to wake up ‘filled with energy.’

This is something I first got hold of when I read about the power of thinking in pictures and using your imagination to change your life. Big pictures. Pictures of what you want – not of what you don’t want.

Regardless of what time you go to bed at night, there is a natural tendency to think about how tired you are instead of planning on how good you want to feel the next day. Thing is, if you go to bed with a picture in your mind and words on your lips that say, ‘I’m tired,’ chances are excellent you’ll wake up more exhausted than when you went to bed.

But … If you say to yourself, ‘I’m wiped out right now, but tomorrow I’m going to wake up feeling GREAT!’ … well then, I can assure that when you “rise up” the next day you will be having a totally different experience; a positive experience.

Now, once you get up, you can begin your day with one of my Theatre of the Mind visualization CDs. These are the key to your success. To change who you are on the outside you must begin within. Change how you see yourself in your mind’s eye and you’ll be changing how you are to other minds.

After doing one of the mega powerful visualizations I teach, you can move on and do the Farmer Burns Stomach Flattener and Vaccuum – as seen in Combat Abs – or you can drop into the cat (or dawg) stretch position – just like the Hindu Pushup posture I teach in Combat Conditioning.

Mark my words: If you do nothing more than simply hold the pushup posture for a minute while breathing deeply – you’ll SLIDE through the remainder of your day feeling like you’re in total bliss.

It’s all about energy, my friend. Think in high energy pictures – then do high energy things.

If you’ll do this – you’ll make so much progress within the next 90 days that people will think you’re a totally different person. And you will be.

The Secret of Failure

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

What I am about to tell you is the secret of failure. Yet, it can be viewed in a number of ways. You can view this message as bitter medicine … or as a salve for your soul. You can see it as harsh – or as the shot of adrenaline you need to get yourself going.

27 years and 2 months ago today, I returned from a district wrestling meet. Despite having high hopes of going to the state tournament, I lost in the first round. Afterward I felt utterly humiliated and frustrated. I felt that all my hard work had been in vain.

Even so, the day after the team bus pulled back into town, I went down to the local recreation center to work out; to press on. I believed that no matter how often I failed, if I kept moving forward I would eventually succeed. I was taught this early on by my parents, You only fail when you quit – when you stop trying, when you give up on yourself and drop your dream book.

So I pressed on. Deep inside I will admit to feeling a lot of hurt because at that time in my life, whenever I made a mistake or experienced a setback, I felt that I, personally, was a failure. Not that I had suffered a loss, but that I was a loser.

No matter how many victories a person accumulates in life, if you view failure as final or personal, then you’ll begin to think you’re a failure, and this can become an inconsolable wound. It can affect and infect every single area of your life.

But this needn’t happen, especially when you realize that all of the most successful human beings were also great at failing, at making mistakes and learning to rise above their setbacks; to cast them aside and think ONLY of what was desired.

Remember, it is not so much your desire – but how strong the desire you have IS. This was brought to my attention the day after the district meet, when a former college wrestler, Tom, asked me how I did. When I managed to cough up the disturbing fact that I lost, he looked at me and said, “It all boils down to desire, doesn’t it?”

Ouch.

Before Tom said this to me I thought I was working hard. I thought I had a strong desire to succeed. I thought I was doing whatever it takes to win. But I was kidding myself. On many occasions I weakened – and every single time it was the MAN inside who weakened. It was NEVER the external me. Whether we succeed or fail, if we’re honest we’ll admit that it was the “stranger” within us who called the shots.

After Tom told me this I began to realize that getting my butt whooped was a good thing. It was necessary for me to strengthen my desire. And this was a lesson I have carried with me in everything I do to this very day. Whether I have a goal that is fitness related or career related, every time I have failed there is only one reason. I can discover this reason at any time by taking a look in the mirror. I can look into my eyes and ask the question, “Have you REALLY given it everything you’ve got?”

The answer coming from the man inside is always “No.”

Somewhere along the line I wasn’t willing to do whatever it takes: I wasn’t willing to follow instructions: I was bull-headed, stupid, stubborn or just plain ignorant.

Each and every failure gave me an opportunity to grow. But before there could be any growth, I had to face the facts. First, I had to acknowledge that I wasn’t perfect – even if I wanted to be. And second, I had to let go of the past, even if my mind was still searching for someone to blame.

As you work toward getting fit, improving your career, increasing your income – or whatever your goals may be, you will make mistakes. You will encounter setbacks. But none of these need to be a bad thing. Your mistakes literally help lead you to your goals – so do your failures. But only if you stay in the GAME and learn from what you’ve done.

If you’ve fallen off the wagon for a spell, don’t flog yourself. Just get back on.

If you’ve gained a few pounds over Spring Break, simply refocus and get back to where you want to be. Don’t waste a single second whining or complaining. Focus instead on building your inner being to the tower of fortified strength it can be.

Do this and you will come to know that the strength of your desire is far more important than merely having a desire. When your desire burns bright, you get what you want. When it’s dim, you don’t.

Yours,

Matthew Furey

What’s Happening to Me

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

I wanted to give you a “heads up” on what is

happening with me. As you know, a short time ago I reverted

back to my given name at birth, Matthew – instead of going by

the more familiar “Matt.”

If you think the simple adding of three letters to your name

doesn’t make a difference, then I guess you’d love to spy

on some of the email I’ve gotten. One of my best friends

almost had a stroke, he was so upset. He essentially let

me know that this is the worst mistake of my life and it

will destroy my business.

In reply I said, “I will remind you of this statement when

we’re sitting in a penthouse suite overlooking the Big Apple

and I’m telling you about all the marvelous successes that

have come about by NOT listening to your advice.”

This set up another round of fire between us and eventually

we agreed to focus on what is most important between us –

and that isn’t the adding of “hew” to the name “Matt.”

Over the last couple weeks I have been working on finishing

a NEW book – this one not like anything I have ever written,

except the stories – but even they are far, far different than

most of what I tell you in my daily emails.

If you like my daily emails – and if you think I tell a good

story in them – well then, you WILL be in for an incredible

surprise when this book findally comes out.

At present I am cranking between 2,000 and 4000 words

per day. And what is pouring out of me will transcend anything

I have ever written. This book will go out and change millions of

lives all over the world. It will be translated into almost every

language ever written – if not every.

It will blast through peoples’ fears, destroy their worries and open

them to a life not imagined in “common hours.” This book will not be

like anything you have ever read before. It will quite literally rip

your heart right from your chest.

It will be like a punch through every limiting belief you hold as

sacred.

It will break you down and rebuild you faster than a trip to the shrink

or the taking of prozac.

It will shock you, astonish you and bend your ear toward the REAL me

people meet when they see me in person, look into my eyes and

shake my hand.

And so, because I am putting the grand majority of my energy into

finishing this book, I have not been sending emails as regularly as

I once did. From what I can see of the future, this will probably not

change once this book comes out because I will be in great demand

throughout the world as a speaker and guest on talk shows and such –

something I have always previously refused to do.

I will do my best to be in contact with you as often as possible – but

right now it will probably be 2-4 times a week.

I will keep you abreast of this new book and the date when it will be

introduced to the market place. At present I have a number of publishers

scrambling to place a bid on this puppy. One of the main things being

discussed is how they are not allowed to tamper with the book, making

edits that I do not approve. This means that the book will have to be

printed the way I wrote it and intended the message to be delivered.

Anyway, that’s about it for now.

I will have more news for you soon.

Yours,

Matthew Furey
